I have a laptop with dual boot (Windows 10 + Ubuntu). Till I updated to 10 I experienced performance problems and I decided to create a Windows 7 VHD system for some tests.
I used some tutorials for Windows 8 and I guess something changed till 8, cause some commands removed my Windows 10 boot entry while I tried to make the Windows 7 VHD. The boot entry just disappeared from the System startup list. I tried to restore it with MSCONFIG too, but it does not let me do anything.
After that I tried to repair through Advanced Startup but nothing changed. I also tried to fix with the installer but bcdedit/bootrec commands fails too. The strange thing is that GRUB can still recognise and boot into Windows 10 without any problem.
Hi, I would suggest you to rebuild the Boot Configuration Data by following the steps below and check if it helps: 1. Boot the computer using Windows 10 DVD or System Repair Disc, a black screen appears with gray text 'Press any key to boot from CD or DVD'. Press any key. Select the correct time and Keyboard type. Click Repair your computer in the lower left corner. Select Troubleshoot from Choose an option screen. Click Advanced options in Troubleshoot screen.
Click on command Prompt. Type these following commands and hit enter after each line of command: Bootrec /fixmbr Bootrec /fixboot Bootrec /scanos Bootrec /rebuildbcd If you do not have Windows 10 DVD, you can create an installation media by clicking the link below: Let us know the result.

The signs to suggest damaged boot loader of Windows 10 installed in UEFI mode can include the system’s boot failure and emergence of a new BSOD with an error: The boot configuration data for your PC is missing or contains errors. File: EFI Microsoft Boot BCD Error code: 0xc000000f All these may indicate damage or even complete removal of Windows 10 boot loader configuration — Boot Configuration Data (BCD). When trying to execute command bcdedit the system shows an error: The boot configuration data store could not be found.
The requested system device cannot be found. The matter is that Windows 10 BCD loader configuration installed in UEFI mode is stored in a separate hidden EFI partition (with the volume of 100 Mb and having FAT32 file system), which the utility bcdedit cannot recognize and therefore it cannot manage the configuration of the boot loader stored there. Now, in order to restore the boot loader (BCD) configuration, we should boot from an authentic Windows 10 installation DVD (or from a recovery disk or a specially created bootable flash drive) and launch the command prompt. When exactly do I use FAT, and when should I pick NTFS? Naturally, NTFS should be used within the scope o. In 2013, there are plenty of file systems around. There are FAT, NTFS, HFS and many other file systems used by the many different operating systems. And yet, the oldest and simplest file system of them all is still going strong. The FAT system is age.
In our previous article we were discussing how data recovery tools are able to recover information. In that article we covered FAT, one of the two major file systems used in Windows computers. Today, we’ll be discussing the other file system: the NTF. Microsoft Outlook, an absolute leader in the segment of corporate email clients for desktops, stores user data in OST and PST files. An OST file is a cached copy of the user’s mailbox stored at MS Exchange server.
A PST file is a personal folders fil. In this article we will discuss restoring data from an OST file (offline folders file). Without Outlook, the same procedure cannot be done with the use of makeshift means, and it usually requires purchase of third-party software capable of converting.
